In many older Plant City homes off Alexander Street and Park Road, the washer does not sit in an indoor laundry room. It sits in the garage, on a back porch room or in a utility shed, often on a concrete floor that slopes toward a drain or door. That location changes which problems show up first.

To level a washer, lean it back, adjust the front legs until it sits flat with a level across the top front to back and side to side, then tighten the lock nuts against the cabinet so the legs cannot creep.
Washer not filling?
In January 2026 we took a call from Lakeland, east of Plant City, for a top load washer that would not fill. Before calling, try these:
- Make sure both faucets behind the washer are fully open.
- Check the hoses for kinks, especially if the washer was recently pushed back.
- Turn the faucets off, unscrew the hoses at the washer and look at the small mesh screens inside the inlet ports. If they are packed with grit, rinse them carefully.
If water still does not come in, the water inlet valve, the lid switch or the water level control is the usual cause.
