Most oven failures come down to a short list of parts: the bake igniter on gas ovens, the bake or broil element on electric ovens, the temperature sensor, and the control board with its relays. The job is finding which one, and proving it with a meter before a part is ordered.
Common oven problems

| Door locked after self clean | A door lock motor or switch fault, or the control still reading the oven as hot |
| Runs hot or will not shut off | A stuck relay on the control board. Turn it off at the breaker and do not use it until it is checked. |
