Dishwasher repair in Carrollwood
Dishwasher leaving water in the bottom, not cleaning, or with a door that will not stay shut in Carrollwood? We diagnose it at your home, give one flat price before any work, and back the repair for 90 days, parts and labor. Call (813) 822-5910.
Two of the three dishwasher calls we handled in Carrollwood this year were the same complaint: water sitting in the bottom after the cycle. On one of them the impeller had come off the drain pump shaft completely, so the motor ran but moved no water.
Carrollwood dishwasher jobs from 2026
| Month | Complaint | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| March | Not draining | Impeller separated from the drain pump. Drain pump assembly replaced. |
| July | Not draining, while the kitchen sink drained fine | Diagnosed on the visit and the needed part ordered. |
| October | Door would not stay closed without tape | Door latch and hinge springs inspected on the same visit as two other appliances. |
Standing water? Check these first
- Pull out the filter at the bottom of the tub and rinse it. A clogged filter is the most common cause.
- If you have a garbage disposal, make sure the knockout plug was removed when the dishwasher was installed, and run the disposal once.
- Look under the sink for a kinked drain hose.
If the water still stays, the drain pump or the check valve needs a technician.
Other common dishwasher problems
- Dishes still dirty: blocked spray arms, a weak wash motor, or a failed water inlet valve.
- Not filling: the inlet valve, the float switch, or the door switch.
- Leaking from the door: a worn door gasket or a dishwasher that is not level.
- Dishes not drying: the heating element or the rinse aid dispenser.

Habits that look like a broken dishwasher
Several of the "not cleaning" calls we take turn out to be about detergent and loading, not parts. Before booking a repair, check these:
- Pods dropped in the bottom instead of the dispenser dissolve too early and leave the main wash with no detergent.
- Tall items in the wrong spot. A cutting board or sheet pan standing at the front of the bottom rack can block the detergent door from opening.
- Bowls nested together or a tall pan blocking the spray arm keeps water from reaching anything behind it.
- Heavy prerinsing. Detergent enzymes need some food soil to work on. Scrape plates, but you do not need to rinse them clean.
- A dirty filter. Clean it every two to four weeks.
If dishes are still dirty with all of that right, the circulation pump, spray arms or water supply need a technician.
