In February 2026 we were called to a Samsung electric dryer in Valrico that was running but not heating. On a Samsung electric dryer, no heat usually comes down to one of these, tested in this order:
- Thermal fuse. A one time safety fuse that blows when the dryer overheats, usually because of a blocked vent.
- Heating element. The coil can break, often near a support.
- High limit and cycling thermostats. Safety and temperature switches that can fail open.
- Power supply. An electric dryer needs both legs of its 240 volt circuit to heat. If one breaker half trips, the drum still turns but there is no heat.
That last one is worth checking yourself: look at the dryer's double breaker in the panel and reset it fully off, then on.
Samsung dryer notes
- Many Samsung dryers show an error such as HE or dE on the display. Write it down before calling.
- Samsung dryers with steam need a water supply. A kinked or closed water line can bring up a separate error.
- If a thermal fuse has blown, the vent must be checked too, or the new fuse will blow again.
