Report by Sam Ralin, owner and senior technician

At a managed rental in New Port Richey, water was leaking from the braided supply line behind the refrigerator, the line that feeds the water valve, the ice maker and the dispenser. The technician found it broken in two places and replaced it.
Check your water line
- Pull the refrigerator out once a year and look at the line and both connections.
- Replace old plastic tubing with a braided line.
- Leave a loop of slack so the line is not pinched or stretched when the refrigerator moves.
- Know where the shutoff valve is, usually under the sink or in the wall behind the refrigerator.
A slow leak behind a refrigerator can soak a floor for weeks before anyone sees it.
