In Mulberry, a refrigerator's fresh food section was warm while the freezer was still cold, and ice had built up on the back wall of the freezer.

The technician found the evaporator fan not working. That fan pulls air across the cold coil in the freezer and pushes it into the refrigerator section. With the fan stopped, the freezer stays cold near the coil but no cold air reaches the fresh food side. The evaporator fan was replaced.

A quick test you can do

Open the freezer and press the door switch with your finger. On most refrigerators you should hear the fan inside start. If it stays quiet, or you hear scraping, the fan or ice around it is the likely problem.
