Report by Sam Ralin, owner and senior technician

A Frigidaire refrigerator in South Tampa had two dispenser problems at once: water would not come out, and the ice dispenser only gave crushed ice, no matter which setting was chosen.
They had two separate causes. The water inlet valve was clogged, so no water reached the dispenser. And the ice bin solenoid, the small part that opens the gate for cubed ice, had broken, so the dispenser defaulted to crushed. The technician replaced the inlet valve, the water filter and the solenoid.
One visit, two faults
Dispenser complaints often have more than one cause. We test the water path and the ice path separately, so both get fixed on the same visit.
